LARRY JOHNSTON

Larry Johnston has more than 20 years of experience holding a variety of roles with a diverse and progressive athletic background at the collegiate level as well as high-school, junior-high, and elementary schools. He has served as an educational and athletic leader within diverse communities managing policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure student excellence. He has also helped design and implement new collegiate athletic facilities along with strength and conditioning programs for both high-school and university level athletic programs. He has been a representative at the state level for the Commission on Athletics, Western State Conference and Orange Empire Conference in California.

Out of high-school, Larry received a full academic and sports scholarship for Track and Field. He is a five-time academic All-American in Track and Field and was part of an NAIA National Championship Track and Field team. Larry is a 1996 Olympic Trials Qualifier for the Hammer Throw.

His bachelor’s degree was earned in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University and his Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University Fullerton. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Theology and Christian Counseling from Christian Bible College Seminary.

Larry served as the Athletic Director for TCAL before becoming the Commissioner for Texas Trinity League. He will bring to TTL the highest level of structure, communication, and excellence that the league promises and demands for the participating schools.

Larry has been married over 25 years, has a wonderful daughter and lives in the great state of Texas. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and is an avid collector of children’s toys and books from the 1930’s and 1940’s.
